I am a member of NAC, which is Nelson’s only Airsoft club – the closest clubs to us are based in Wellington and Christchurch. NAC is a member of Airsoft New Zealand (ASNZ) which is the national governing body of the sport.
The club has around 50 regular players, some play most weekends and some just play when it suits, there is no requirement to turn up to every game.
We play airsoft mainly for fun and recreation but we do also train for interclub events, the main ones being in Hokitika in March every year, and the ASNZ nationals, which were hosted in Nelson by NAC this year and will be in Wellington February next year.
The club has access to a variety of fields around Nelson which allows for a large range of different games to be played, so there is a game style to suit everyone!
Anyone can play, although due to our airsoft rifles being classed under the firearms umbrella we do require players to be 18 years of age (or 16 with a firearms licence).
